Last year, retailers got slammed with tons of unsold inventory. This year they’re starting early and cutting prices significantly to lure customers in!
Walmart anounced today that it would begin it’s second round of price cuts in its attempt to be the “price leader” this holiday season.
Towards the end of September, Walmart announced that it would be selling 100 toys for just $10 each. It now follows up this campaign with another which will drop the prices on another 100 toys by between 20 and 30 percent.
Target follows suit with price cuts by as much as 50% on toys like GI Joe & Barbie.
Most retailers are also focusing more attention to their ONLINE stores which are more convienient for consumers than brick and mortar stores and have significantly fewer overhead expenses.
