Things That Must Die in 2010: (8) Vampires

Okay, so Bram Stoker really had something there with that Dracula book, and it had to be put on the big screen because no one could wade through the book’s chewy Victorian verbosity.
There have been some moments, and some actors: Max Schreck in Nosferatu, Bella Lugosi in the 1931 Dracula, Brad Pitt in Interview with a Vampire, maybe even the first Blade or two ferchrissake.
But this vampire soap opera thing has got to stop. Watching True Blood is like watching Melrose Place done over with bad fake teeth and recently bathed winos for actors.
That’s it–put a stake in it, people!
