Health Care Reform: Last Chance

As a new Health Care Bill circulates Washington, lobbyist and activists on both sides of the aisle rally to gain support.

Democratic Congressmen in districts with large republican constituents hold to their “undecided” stance worried about losing their seat in the upcoming election if they support.  Republican demagogue fear mongers continue to hold rallies and run ads sponsored by Health Insurance Companies threatening that America will explode and the Mes-kins will run away with all of our wives if Obama succeeds.  Just look at the Tea Party rally happening right now with Hitler signs and toothless, yelling mobs in overalls.  Are they really objective, or is Fox News giving them just a little too much coverage?

Let’s look at the facts!  This bill will:

• prohibit the practice of denying or cancelling coverage to people with “pre-existing conditions”.
• reduce the cost for small businesses and individuals by allowing them to buy into a pool just like members of Congress do.
• reduce the federal deficit by $138 million over 10 years.
• help 32 million Americans without health insurance get coverage.

Mitch McConnell

I must admit that I am disappointed that this bill, in an attempt to appease right-wing politicians, does not include the Public Option.  Even with this concession, U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell states, “We’re going to continue to do everything that we can do to make sure that this bill never, ever, EVER passes!”

It’s obvious that Republicans will never, ever, EVER forsake their Health Insurance financiers, so why are we trying to appease them.  Like Dennis Kucinich says, let’s include the public option and force it through.

We’ve been debating this for a year.  It’s time to make this happen!

Our Congress will be voting on this bill this Sunday March 21, 2010 at 1pm (EST).

Get on the phone or email your congressman and let them know that WE NEED REFORM NOW!
