Occupy Wall Street Protestor Rips Into Fox News Reporter (VIDEO)

Occupy Wall Street Protestor Rips Into Fox News Reporter (VIDEO)

Even if Geraldo Rivera was at the Zuccotti Park yesterday, Fox News has generally been a tad dismissive of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Foxnews.com (as of this writing) has no coverage of this national event on their front page stories. (Hard to imagine for a network that was so gung-ho about the Tea Party!) Red Eye‘s Bill Schulz went out to try to “prank” the protesters. Bill O’Reilly sent a producer minion out with the same mission: to belittle OWS’s cause by cutting up interviews to make people sound stupid.

Well, here is an interview that Fox News filmed, but doesn’t want you to see. The segment was shot on Wednesday for Greta van Susteren‘s show, (though it looks like the same producer from this O’Reilly segment questioning Michael Moore‘s anti-capitalist agenda) though the decision was made to leave it on the cutting room floor. The reason should be obvious pretty quickly.

The speaker giving Fox News the buisness is Jesse LaGreca, a vocal member of the Occupy Wall Street protests. This video comes courtesy of Kyle Christopher from OccupyWallSt.org‘s media team.

Now, no news organization is under obligation to air every interview they’ve filmed, especially when it makes them look bad. But you’d think that a “Fair and Balanced” network (that tells an interviewee that they are here to give them fair coverage to get any message they’d like to get out) would try to include at least a couple of opposing viewpoints to Mr. Shulz’s smarmy jokes or O’Reilly’s “infiltration” of the camp.

The ball is in your court, Fox.

Transcript of Interview

Fox: Jesse, so Ray, your partner here, your ..

Ray: comrade.

Fox: Your colleague, she’d seen the protests in Greece and Europe and elsewhere. Did you guys take your cue from that? Are you hoping to cite certainly what was a lot of the tension, if not police activity. I know over the weekend there were over 100 arrests and you guys got things fired up. Are you taking your cues from the international movement and how do you want to see this? If you could have it in a perfect way, how would it be?

Jesse: Well I don’t know, its really difficult to answer questions leading to those conclusions. I’d say that we didn’t take our cue leading off of anybody really. It became a more spontaneous movement. As far as seeing this end, I wouldn’t like to see this end. I would like to see the conversation continue. This is what we should have been talking about in 2008 when the economy collapsed. We basically patched a hole on the tire and said let the car keep rolling. Unfortunately it’s fun to talk to the propaganda machine and the media especially conservative media networks such as yourself, because we find that we cant get conversations for the department of Justice’s ongoing investigation of News Corporation, for which you are an employee. But we can certainly ask questions like you know, why are the poor engaging in class warfare? After 30 years of having our living standards decrease while the wealthiest 1% have had it better than ever, I think it’s time for some maybe, I don’t know, participation in our democracy that isn’t funded by news cameras and gentlemen such as yourself.

Fox: But, uh, yeah well, let me give you this challenge Jesse.

Jesse: Sure.

Fox: We’re here giving you an opportunity on the record […] to put any
message you want out there, to give you fair coverage and I’m not
going to in any way

Jesse: That’s awesome!

Fox:…give you advice about it. So, there is an exception in the case, because you wouldn’t be able to get your message out there without us.

Jesse: No, surely, I mean, take for instance when Glenn Beck was doing his protest and he called the President, uh, a person who hates white people and white culture. That was a low moment in Americans’ history and you guys kinda had a big part in it. So, I’m glad to see you coming around and kind of paying attention to what the other 99 percent of Americans are paying attention to, as opposed to the far-right fringe, who who would just love to destroy the middle class entirely.

Fox: Alright, fair enough. You have a voice, an important reason to criticize myself, my company and anyone else. But, let me ask you that, in fairness, does this administration, President Obama, have any criticism as to the the financial situation the country’s in…?

Jesse: I think, myself, uh, as well as many other people, would like to see a little but more economic justice or social justice—Jesus stuff—as far as feeding the poor, healthcare for the sick. You know, I find it really entertaining that people like to hold the Bill of Rights up while they’re screaming at gay soldiers, but they just can’t wrap their heads around the idea that a for-profit healthcare system doesn’t work. So, let’s just look at it like this, if we want the President to do more, let’s talk to him on a level that actually reaches people, instead of asking for his birth certificate and wasting time with total nonsense like Solyndra.

“Glenn Beck saying the President hates whites and white culture.” Well he did throw his “white” grandma under the bus didn’t he. In his book Dreams from My Father:
I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I
began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites. I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race. That sounds pretty racist against whites to me.

  • Nan4tjn

This bubba is saying the right want’s to
destroy the middle class? I would say it’s the left that IS destroying
the Country. REMEMBER the Democrats have been in power since BEFORE the
crash. 07.”Social justice like feeding the poor and Jesus
stuff.” Well bubba we have been fighting the war on poverty for YEARS
and it hasn’t done much except keep families on welfare for generations.
And Look at the “poor” in this Countrypare that to Other Countries say
like Africa (who we have given billions to to help the poor) it hasn’t
helped the poor only those in Govt. Just like This Govt. is doing with
their donors. Stimulus money didn’t go to shovel it went to Oborgqueens
DONORS! Who in turn went out of Business! And screaming at Gay
soldiers (Yup another drone) That soldier was NOT what the 2 (yeah NOT
the entire audience the left say but 2 people) were screaming about it
was his QUESTION BIG DIFFERENCE BUT the left doesn’t want to listen to
the original tape!.Our health care system doesn’t work? How
about you actually LOOK at Socialized medicine and tell me that works. I
lived it it doesn’t work that’s why those that can afford it go to
other Countries (like OURS) to get the help they need. His Birth
certificate shouldn’t have been in question IF he would have produced a
REAL one the first time AND we didn’t hear from his African family
members who say they were present at his Birth in Kenya. And Solyndra we shouldn’t worry about the money STOLEN from TAXPAYERS to pay off Oborgqueens Donors! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!SO
Libbies nah this video just PROVES the libbies haven’t got a clue, get
their “facts” from Media Matters or MSLSD, or NBC all in the pocket of
    the Democrats.

The young fellow was impressive.  He was not degrading the FOX network, he did not get overly emtional but he kept his demeanor and control and listed line after line of what America should be about.  Heck this boy should run against the bucket of current candidates, he would hold his own very well.  Thoughtful forthright and unfettered.  Nice combination.  With young people back on the march for constructive change in America our country just might have a fighting chance after all.

  • 2smart4liberals

This guy is there to ‘send an important message to the world’.  Isn’t that the point of protest?  So he has an opportunity to give that message on a national, if not global, scale - via one of the most influential mediums in the world – and his message is so important to him that he takes his opportunity and……….spouts the same tired five liberal talking points we’ve heard a million times.

This guy has no idea why he’s there.  I’ll tell you why they’re called the 99% – because 99% of these useful idiots haven’t the first clue why they are protesting and what they are protesting.  They don’t even have any demands.  These are typical, 20 something contrarians who jump at the chance to “rage against the establishment”.  Too bad they have no real world experience, have no clue about how the world actually functions, and have no unifying message that might otherwise lend at least a shred of viability to what they are doing.

Oh, and the best part is that now – by simply blasting Fox News – this young man is the new Liberal massiah.  To be fair, I guess with his abysmal performance the last massiah has fallen from grace.

  • http://www.SicklyCat.com JCB3

Seriously?  Those “talking points” are all he needed to completely rebut any conservative rhetoric.

And speaking of Messiah’s… Don’t get me started on Joe the Plumber!

“Foxnews.com (as of this writing) has no coverage of this national event on their front page stories.”

    Doesn’t meet their agenda….??

  • Petrocaz

These young people have it right . I dont want to hop on their bandwaggon and neither should these groups who let business and political  rightwingers run this country in the ground the past thirty years . What we need to do is get off the computer and go down and support them .This is their time , time to take back what is rightfully theirs and have some faith in them .

  • Petrocaz

Tick Tick Tick Tick….hear that one percenter your time is up

  • Petrocaz

    Times up teabaggers , repugnantkins , and nanny4bonehead .

  • 2smart4liberals

If by “my time is up” you mean I’m gainfully employed, well diversified and enjoying the fruits of my success, you are exactly right.  See, that’s what you and these protestors don’t get……I didn’t wait for someone to hand it to me and I’m not relying on anyone to do it for me.  That’s why I am where I am at a young age and they are amongst their own unable to articulate why they are there, who they are protesting and what their alternative plan would be.

I’ll gladly take the 1% – we own everything.  We win.

  • 2smart4liberals

What conservative rhetoric did he rebut?  Conservative media?  This is what they are all about?  They don’t even have a message or the ability to even formulate one in any coherent manner…….98% of them don’t know why they are there, 1% (this guy) have the ability to spew spoon-fed talking points when asked what message they want to get out.  And that makes them the massiah du jour for liberals.  Brilliant.

Remember, conservatives didn’t make Joe the Plumber.  Our idiot president – then candidate – made Joe the Plumber because he forgot where he was and answered Joe’s question honestly.  Obama is qualified to march with these other useful idiots on Wall Street.  Other than that, not so much.

2smart typifies the modern “christian” corporate approach to being a consumer, not being a fellow citizen. They’ve forgotten what it means to be an American, to be in a common society, and think it’s all about the money.

That guy tore him a new one!

I wish he would have actually stated some valid reasons why he was there and what he was mad about instead of going on a rant! The reporter gave him a perfect opportunity to say anything he wanted but here is what I got. I can’t really see why these issues are worth a protest at Wall Street but maybe I’m confused!

    1. He wants more coverage into the Newscorp investigation.

There is plenty of coverage of the Newscorp scandal by all the competitors to Newscorp. I’m not sure what purpose this serves. I mean, I’m sure the liberals would like to see their only opposition go bye-bye but please, get real people. Viewers like what Fox News has to say. Get over it!

    2. He doesn’t like that Glenn Beck said  Barack Obama hates white people.

Glenn Beck is a former comedian and an entertainer. He likes to get over dramatic but let’s not kid ourselves. Obama did state that he resented having a white mother in his book. In reality who cares? I don’t think Obama hates whites. Even if he did, it doesn’t fuel    his agenda! His sole purpose is to fill the coffers of the Democratic elites and promote class warfare in order to get votes! If his last Trillion dollar money grab didn’t convince you maybe his next half trillion will!

    3. He doesn’t want a for profit Healthcare system.

Neither do I!!! I wish doctors and hospitals would work for free! Until we force Medical practitioners into servitude we’ll need to continue to have health insurance to cover the high costs that they demand!

    4. He doesn’t like that main stream media is covering the Solyndra scandal.

If he thinks the Solyndra scandal is nonsense then his entire argument is baseless! It’s ironic that he’s protesting Wall Street and then openly stating that he’s opposed to companies like Solyndra being held accountable for defrauding taxpayers!

Finally, somebody exposes feudalism for what it is! He didn’t have to use Big A words to do it!

  • http://www.facebook.com/jerilyn.bridges Jerilyn Bridges

Yes he did. I am glad, those Fox tyoes usualy have me screaming at the television! This gentleman had the brains and the cahones to call a spade a spade.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jerilyn.bridges Jerilyn Bridges

That gentlemen knows full well why he’s here!   The 99% know full well why they’re here1 Its the monors who who spew nonsense like you that don’t have a clue! You still have that feudalistic mentality that only you know about all the ills of the world. There are no such things as contrarians.   They have enough experience to know that most folks who dismiss their experience have no idea that their little  bubble is not the real world! They understand how you want the world to function and they know how to change it! That is what scares the 1%! That is what scared King John when the serfs came to their doors! An intelligent serf knows when you’re lying! An intelligent socialist knows that one person should equal one vote! And what is worse, one socialist knows more about life than a thousand feudalists!

     Oh , that joe!

  • http://www.facebook.com/jerilyn.bridges Jerilyn Bridges

There is nothing intelligent about plugging your hands in your ears and singing ” Ihear nothing, I see nothing” It is just another way of saying ” I have nothing useful to say!” that would be a better way of stating your “non-point”!

  • http://www.facebook.com/jerilyn.bridges Jerilyn Bridges

At the risk of repeating myself: get your fingers out of your ears. put on your thinking caps! and understand that without the Koch Brothers and their money, Nobody would have to listen to what Fox had to say! They would be just another CBN!

  • http://www.facebook.com/jerilyn.bridges Jerilyn Bridges

Yers, we are destroying YOUR ! Yes, we are destroying your feudalist capitalistic society! No, we are not asking your permission! No, it does not help to lie to us! Yes we know that Shrubbie gave the money to his cronies before Obama got there! Yes we know that Haliburton is not Obama’s friend1 Yes! We are aware that you folks doctored the tape and have tired to pass it off as the real tape1 Yes Yes we know you are trying to tell yus that socialized medicine is bad. However for every Canadian that leaves for the Us, there are hundreds of citizens going to Canada for the socialized medicine you seem to think is so bad! In fac so many have decided that Canadian medicine is cheaper, that you folks had to pass laws to stop folks from going to canada to get the medicine! Yes! you folks were screaming at the gay soldier: pure and simple1 You can’t doctor that up!

Well put: are they serving cake at the guilotines?

  • 2smart4liberals

Jerilyn – I’m the one paying the taxes. I’m the host. The leeches are the ones sucking off the host unable to live without them.

  • 2smart4liberals

Yes, I am a Christian.  I believe in helping those that help themselves.  That’s the Christian way.  I love how social periah keep tossing out “Christian” in order to try and shame us into giving what we’ve worked hard for to someone who refuses to work – having no say or choice in the matter.  Most liberals I know are atheist, but they are the first ones to tell a conservative that they aren’t being Christian if they don’t give all their money to some deadbeat.  The bible says that you will be provided food and clothing.  That’s it.  I don’t see anybody starving or naked in this country so I would say that’s pretty much spot on.  Problem is, though, these useful idiots think just because they went to school if they don’t walk into a job immediately making $100K and can get the big house, the big car and all the toys RIGHT NOW that they have been wronged.  They are a lazy, self-serving, narcissistic bunch of spoiled kids who haven’t the first clue what it is to work, save and actually earn something.  They buy it now and pay for it later.  It’s not entirely their fault, they suffer from the foolishness of youth.  They’ll wise up soon enough.
And Bruce, it’s not all about the money.  But it does take money to buy things and to help others.  People want to make that choice for themselves.  They don’t want to be told they HAVE to do it.  Big difference.

  • 2smart4liberals

So capitalism is evil?  Is that it, Jerilyn?

Your inane rambling would indicate that you have the intellectual qualifications to join your fellow lemings in protest.  Just remember, if anyone holding a microphone asks…
      Capitalism is Evil
      Corporations are Evil
      Fox News is Evil
      Money is Evil and Unnecessary

If you can remember those 4 things you’ll be elevated instantly within the social ranks of the group.  Oh, and be sure and dress like a zombie to signify “Corporate Zombi-ism”……..that should really further your cause.

I better get back to work so I can continue to pay my share and yours, too.  Enjoy the protest.  Should be a good day for it.

  • 2smart4liberals

Sadly, SDB1, you make a logical, fact-based argument that isn’t in line with what their handlers have spoon-fed them, and this is what you get…………
    Koch Brothers & Fox News.

I should warn you in advance that pointing out that labor unions donation to the Democratic party FAR exceeds the money that the Koch brothers donate to the Republican party.  I’m sure that will be labeled as you “not having your thinking cap on”.

It probably wouldn’t do any good to point out also that during the big Wisconsin rallies in support of the state unions, much was done and said to denegrate the Koch Brothers.  All the while the union employees and supporters villified the evil Koch Brothers, they were benefiting from profits of Georgia Pacific, a company that represented a large portion of their state retirment plans.  Oh, by the way…….cover your ears Jerilyn…..Georgia Pacific is owned by the Koch Brothers and have several facilities that employ union labor.

But, never let facts get in the way of some good old fashioned class warfare hate.

    Anyway, great post.

  • Wolf-Runner

Very interesting comment…”spouts the same tired five liberal talking points we’ve heard a million times.” The point should be made here is that you’re not listening. The so-called ‘rage against the establishment’ is that the establishment you obviously support has failed, more than once. You also mention within another one of your posts about being employed and that these people need to get a job – that sounds like Bill O’Riley in his illusions of grandeur comments that these people need to shave, get haircuts, take a bath and get a job. Both of you and yours appear to be the ones who have no real world experience or no clue of how the world actually functions…it is also obvious you are living in a world of denial. Many of the people who are without jobs got put out of work all at once. Did you forget how many companies, industries, factories, etc., put thousands of people out of work in one day? Just for your information – 27,000 in one day. So I think it’s an insult that someone, such as yourself and even O’Riley, would make such comments. Who do you work for? Really? Are you so sure that your job will be there tomorrow? Don’t bet on it. This protest that is happening all over our nation is comprised of the young & old, liberal-conservative-independent, employed, unemployed, retired, religious and non-religious, gay & straight, active military and veterans, male & female, white, black, brown, oriental and native American, Republican, Democrat and just about every other walk of life… except the minorities of those like yourself, Mr. O’Riley and Rush Limbaugh. There is no single message because there are multiple issues of which are intertwined. This is what you fail to realize. What you hearing is the real voice of the American People and it is getting louder. We the People are not the problem with what is wrong with our country – We are the solution. Jesse LaGreca did a great job getting out a very clear message – too bad you missed it.

  • Wolf-Runner

You’re a very good example of what is wrong with this country and has been for so long. I thought when America fought for it’s freedom and independence that it kicked all the rift-raft out…guess they missed a few.

  • 2smart4liberals

Better be nice to me, Wolfey, I’m paying for your meals, healthcare and housing.

“Join us as we organize against corporations, using social networking ( BY CORPORATIONS), smartphones (BY CORPORATIONS), services by wireless carriers (THAT ARE CORPORATIONS), wearing clothes (MADE BY CORPORATIONS), capturing it all with cameras (MADE BY CORPORATIONS), and getting there via cars, buses, bicycles, and shoes (MADE BY CORPORATIONS).  We deserve more from these greedy corporations!   Join us afterword at Starbucks.”

Useful Idiots are what’s wrong with this country.  It’s apparent which side of the ledger to add you to.

  • http://www.SicklyCat.com JCB3

This guy is the reason people hate Christians.

  • 2smart4liberals

If people hate Christians for having a differing opinion then they lack the intelligence or moral character to really matter, anyway.
When a group of people show up to protest something and they can’t even articulate what they are doing there, what they want or what their alternative solution(s) would be they are IDIOTS.  The fact that people like you glorify stupidity is what’s wrong with this country.

  • 2smart4liberals

No, too bad the message was the same, tired crap that people have been spewing for years as an excuse in lieu of working hard.

Guess what?  I’ve been put out of work a few times.  Each time I re-honed my skills or (in the last 7 years) decided to not put my fate into someone else’s hands and do it for myself.  I now have 1 LLC in the medical arena with one franchise location and another LLC that is DBA as two other businesses – an online garment store and a medical practice service business.  Very soon, it will DBA a rental company when my wife and I purchase our first rental units.

So, who do I work for?  ME
Will my job be there tomorrow?  I assume so, but if not I’ll work hard and do something else.  I suggest these useful morons familiarize themselves with that concept.  My wife – a first generation immigrant – worked hard and went to medical school and worked her way through residency and sub-specialty fellowship.

HARD WORK pays off.  Crying and whining seldom do.  But then again, it has always been easier to blame your ills on someone else rather than try and rectify your situation.  So if you want to protest – fine – but live with your choices and accept the life that it yields.

I have heard multiple people interviewed that have stated that if offered a job right now, they would turn it down.  Does that make any sense to you?  I heard another say “what am I supposed to do, flip burgers?”  These are the “solution” to what’s wrong with our country?

If you really think a bunch of pseudo-hippie-wanna-be morons that have no message, no alternative to what it is they protest against and offer nothing more than a side-show attraction for people working everyday then you are as delusional as they are.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Brett-Anthøny-Mason/729091486 Brett Anthøny Mason

Helping people who help themselves is a concept antithetical to Christianity.  The central tenet of the faith is undeserved grace.

    Also this:
About 15% of U.S. households — 17.4 million families — lacked enough money to feed themselves at some point last year, according to a new U.S. Department of Agriculture report.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Brett-Anthøny-Mason/729091486 Brett Anthøny Mason

Lemmings* don’t protest, as a definitive rule.  Lemmings sit at home and don’t do anything.

  • 2smart4liberals

“undeserved grace” is given from God almighty.  We can’t earn it, we can only ask for it.

Waiting for a handout because you are unwilling to help yourself is very different.

What did those 15% do to rectify their situation?  That is the difference between success and failure.

  • 2smart4liberals

Given they can’t articulate any point of any kind, they’ve just kind of moved their “living room” to wall street.  Same thing, different place.  It seems  if the protest was paramount to them, they would at least be able to say what it is they are protesting and what idea(s) they may have as an alternative.

It’s amazing to me that so many people so freely justify – if not idolize – ignorance; knowing nothing more than they are pissed that someone actually have all the things they THINK they deserve or things they THING are owed to them.  That’s what is wrong with this country.

  • Jay

The right has not run the county down. It is the progessive liberals who want Americans to rely on the government, so the government can own their every move. Read the Consititution. It was written to tell the government what NOT to do. Too much government.

    Hilarious!

  • Suzi

I happen to be a Christian Liberal who is gainfully employed, well diversified, and have always enjoyed the fruits of whatever success I have had as well, 2smart. However I happen to be “2smart” to simply ASSUME that most liberals are atheists, or that they suggest Conservatives give “all their money to some deadbeat”. I wouldn’t consider it “smart” to just ASSUME something about anyone else. I would LOVE to know where you get the notion that “the Christian way” is only helping those who help themselves? That’s not at all how the Bible reads.

  • Suzi

You do an awful lot of “assuming” 2smart. It’s extremely easy when one has a job to tell someone who doesn’t to just go out and get one. Not quite so easy to do when there aren’t enough jobs to “get”. Not every person who doesn’t have a job is just sitting around with their hand out like you suggest they are. Many have tried in vain to find gainful employment but have been unable to. Maybe, since you seem to think it’s so easy to just go “get a job”, you would be willing to give one of those people yours? Then YOU could just “go get another job”! As for the “crying and whining” you mention; I seem to hear LOTS of it from people such as yourself about not wanting to “have to” give away anything you have earned! You have also complained a lot about those who are just sitting around with their hands out and how it’s “the Christian way” to only help those who help themselves. First of all, it doesn’t seem like those people would actually NEED any type of “help”. Secondly it certainly doesn’t seem to me that people who think as you do would be the least bit interested in helping anyone else, if you weren’t “made to” ( as you put it!).  So, I guess those who truly DO need a little help along the way would just be out of luck, ‘eh? You should only pray that you or someone you love never finds themselves in that situation.

  • Suzi

LOL! All those corporate products you mentioned were PAID FOR by consumers 2smart. They weren’t DONATED by the corporations. So, how does SELLING their products convert into meaning that a corporation can’t be “greedy”? The fact that these corporations think they deserve tax loopholes and tax breaks, all the while making record profits suggests that they are indeed being “greedy”! If these corporations had any Patriotic PRIDE they would never even CONSIDER moving their companies to another country simply because the taxes are less! They should buckle down, work hard(er), and put people right here in the United States to work to help boost our economy! It’s the same with the most wealthy! It’s time we ALL did whatever we can to help get our economy back on track! If that means sacrificing a bit more, then so be it! The middle class and poor have been doing it for decades! Time for the most wealthy to pitch in and not whine and complain that THEY aren’t getting enough tax breaks!!!

  • Suzi

It’s people like you who are hurting this country. Why not do some actual RESEARCH before you make claims like you just did? Your comments about what President Obama supposedly wrote in his book “Dreams from My Father” is FALSE and the subject of a bogus email that has circulated the internet. Here’s the TRUE information about what you just claimed. http://www.factcheck.org/2008/06/obamas-dreams-of-my-father/  President Obama isn’t the one who has made the racist remarks.

This guy is calm, rational, well spoken, and confident.  We need to see more of these conversations with Occupy movements where real people are able to talk about real issues.  At the same time, he was on the defensive from Fox News partisan attacks.  I think the press should just give him the  microphone and shut up.
